Yoga Kawa is a Toronto-based wellness company known for its unique animal-assisted yoga experiences, including puppy yoga, kitten yoga, bunny yoga, and corporate wellness events. Our programs combine mindfulness, movement, and joyful interaction with animals to create memorable and meaningful experiences for participants.

We are seeking a professional, highly organized, and hospitality-minded Event Manager to oversee on-site event operations and help deliver exceptional guest experiences.

This role is ideal for someone with event management, hospitality, or customer experience leadership who enjoys coordinating live events in a wellness environment.

Role Overview

The Event Manager serves as the on-site operational lead during assigned events. This role ensures events run smoothly, participants feel welcomed, animals are treated respectfully, and the Yoga Kawa brand is represented with professionalism.

Event Managers coordinate instructors, animal handlers, assistants, and participants while maintaining a calm, organized, and detail-oriented approach to event operations.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations

• Oversee on-site event logistics and participant flow
• Coordinate event setup, check-in, and event transitions
• Ensure events run according to schedule
• Maintain strong organization and attention to detail throughout event execution
  
  

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Welcome participants and create a warm, inclusive environment
• Assist guests unfamiliar with yoga or animal-assisted events
• Manage minor guest concerns calmly and professionally
• Represent the Yoga Kawa brand with professionalism and positivity

Animal-Assisted Event Support

• Guide safe and respectful interaction between participants and animals
• Prevent overcrowding or unsafe handling of animals
• Support breeders and animal handlers in maintaining animal welfare standards

Team Coordination

• Support instructors, handlers, and assistants during events
• Maintain clear communication between team members
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment

Safety & Sanitation

• Monitor participant safety during events
• Follow Yoga Kawa sanitation and disinfection protocols
• Maintain a clean and organized event environment

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience in event coordination, luxury hospitality, or customer-facing leadership roles
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in dynamic environments
• Comfort working around animals and participants of all ages
• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving ability
• Experience in wellness studios, hospitality, corporate events, or community programming is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
• Ability to be on your feet for up to 5 hours during events

Additional Requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with reliable transportation, as events take place across the Greater Toronto Area.

Candidates should also be able to:

• Work evenings, holidays, and weekends depending on event schedules
• Arrive early to assist with event preparation and setup

Compensation

This position is offered on an independent contractor basis, with compensation based on event assignments and experience.
